BLURB

She can never be his…but he’s taking her anyway.

Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever.

He has never once been tempted to break those rules…until her.

Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash.

Day by day, inch by inch, she breaks down his defenses until he’s faced with a truth he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to protect her, but all he wants is to ruin her. Take her.

Because she’s his.

His princess.
His forbidden fruit.
His every depraved fantasy.

***

Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses.

But when her brother abdicates, she’s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted.

And as she navigates the intricacies—and treacheries—of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can’t have.

Her bodyguard.
Her protector.
Her ultimate ruin.

Unexpected and forbidden, theirs is a love that could destroy a kingdom…and doom them both.

Twisted Games is a contemporary royal bodyguard romance. It’s book two of the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone.

Warning: This book contains a possessive alpha hero, explicit sexual content, and profanity.

EXCERPT

I stopped in front of what I knew was the library from my pre-wedding advance work. “Get in,” I said curtly.

A hard swallow disturbed the delicate lines of Bridget’s throat, but she obeyed without argument.

I followed her inside and locked the door behind us with a soft click. The room wasn’t fully furnished yet, and it was empty save for a rug, a table, and a large mirror. The lights were off, but there was enough moonlight streaming through the curtains for me to spot Bridget’s wary expression.

“I told you, I had to bring him,” she said. “Everyone expected me to bring a date, and it would’ve been weird if I only danced with him once.”

“Stop saying the word ‘date.’” It came out soft and dangerous enough she shivered.

I walked to the table by the window and leaned against it while watching Bridget through dark, hooded eyes.

Possessiveness and anger gripped me—not at her, but at our situation and a world where we were forced to sneak around like criminals. I hated having to hide her, us. I wanted the world to know she was mine and mine alone. I wanted to tattoo myself into her skin and sink into her so fucking deep she could never get me out.

“Take off your dress,” I said.

“Rhys—”

“Take. It. Off.”

REVIEW

4.5 STARS!

Twisted Games is book 2 in the Twisted series by Ana Huang but can be read as a standalone.

Twisted Games follows Bridget and Rhys. Bridget is the princess of Eldora, a European country, however she is currently living in the US as she doesn’t want anything to do with royal life. She’s second in line to the trope which makes it easier to live a more normal life. She’d much prefer to live in America and only attending events a few times a month.

Rhys is a bodyguard from a private security firm that takes over for Bridget’s old bodyguard when he moves back to Eldora to be with his family. They both meet and immediately don’t get along because Rhys isn’y anything like her usual bodyguards who she gets along with. He has his own way of doing things.

Things are going fine in the US until Bridget’s brother, Nikolai, abdicates his right to the throne because of a law stating he can’t marry a commoner. This thrusts Bridget into the first in line to the throne meaning her seemingly normal life in America is over and she must return back to Eldora to prepare for when she becomes Queen.

I really loved Bridget’s character so much. She was so passionate and kind and her love for animals was so cute. I love that she volunteered at an animal shelter just because she loved it and not for PR. I loved her friendship with the people around her and how she didn’t let anyone get her down. She is such a strong woman and that really shows as the story continues.

Rhys… oh my gosh, Rhys. He was the grumpy to this grumpy sunshine story. After years of being a bodyguard for rich girls, he thought Bridget would just be another snobby women, he wasn’t expecting her to knock him off his feet. He was grumpy with everyone but her and he was super possessive over her trying to play it off as part of his job.Their banter is hilarious. They both gave it just as good which built up the intense chemistry between them.

Rhys tried to play off his feelings but he did so many little things that made me swoon.

The chemistry was flying off the pages and I really loved these two together. They both denied their feelings at first which lead to some funny scenes with Rhys still being her bodyguard. This was such a good slow burn that had the intensity building to the perfect moment with all the forbidden romance goodness.

I recommend reading this book! I love a good royal romance and this was a great one!
