Synopsis:

Every student at Shame U has their secrets, and Henley Brooks is no exception. Struggling to pay for college and maintain her perfect reputation has become overwhelming. When her friend Gigi Oxford offers her a night of carefree fun, she can’t pass up the opportunity to unwind.
After a night of drinking turns to chaos, Henley finds herself alone with Lucas Young, a student from London who has come to America to unravel a few secrets of his own, as well as break a few hearts.
Covered in tattoos and drowning in liquor, Lucas was everything Henley should avoid but couldn’t resist. She soon begins to fall for him like the many women before her. But after stumbling across something he didn’t want her to see, she learns that Lucas may not be who she thinks he is.
Henley and Gigi devise a plan to teach Lucas a lesson, but it isn’t long before Henley learns that no one at Shamus Thornton College can be trusted.
When everything begins to feel like it is falling apart, there is only one person Henley wants to pick up the pieces, even if he is the person who caused her to crumble.

Review:
4 stars!

Shameless is the first book i’ve read by Teresa Mummert in a while and I wasn’t disappointed. This story was completely different to anything i’ve ever read.

Lucas and Henley are the total opposite. They both come from opposite worlds which makes it seem like they could never work together. Henley looks like a nerdy librarian meanwhile Lucas looks like a criminal. Even though they don’t seem like they’ll fit together, the saying opposites attract is what comes to play here. Lucas and Henley’s personalities are the perfect fit for each other. However their timing is the one thing that isn’t working and it might be the reason they fall apart. he back and forth between Lucas and Henley had me flipping the pages quickly and not wanting to close the book to do anything else. I got frustrated with the characters at times where I just wanted things to get better for them but that didn’t stop me from continuing to read on.

Their story is filled with lies, betrayal and more bad decisions that create a perfect amount of drama. This story was a rollercoaster ride that at times makes you question everything you thought you knew.

I would recommend this book if you like reading books that are full of angst, that keep you on your toes and have you questioning everything. The game the characters play with each other, the lies, deceit and betrayal have you wondering if there really is going to be a HEA for Lucas and Henley or if they crash and burn.
