Good Boy (Wags #1)

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear.

Review:

5 Stars! My first 5 stars of 2017!

When I heard about this spin-off series I was so excited. I loved the HIM series and I loved the secondary characters in that series so I was ready to hear their stories. I’m pleased to say that Good Boy didn’t disappoint.

Blake and Jess hooking up in US left us wondering what was going to happen between them and left us wanting more. When we met Blake in US, he seemed annoying. But after finding out who he really is in Good Boy has made me fall in love with him. He finds his way into your heart and you don’t want to lose him when the story ends. There's more to him than meets the eye.

In Good Boy, Jess is a little lost and trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. But this time she decided to stay in Toronto which means she’s close the Blake. Blake and Jess can’t get each other out of their minds. At first, Blake doesn’t want a relationship and only wants to show Jess a good time, even though she’s the little sister of one of his teammates. Blake decides to take the chance and risk getting feelings for her, thinking he could deal with them if they emerged.

Good Boy had everything I want in a book; incredible characters, sexiness, laughs and amazing writing. I couldn’t put this book down. I had a smile the whole time I read this book. Blake and Jess’ relationship is a slow burn but its one that I enjoyed, the pace and flow of this book is perfect. Their moments together were something special and had me smiling to myself. Jess and Blake are perfect for each other. You’ll find yourself laughing out loud and maybe even blushing.

I highly recommend Good Boy to anyone that loves romance. It won’t disappoint you.

I can’t wait to see read the next instalment in the series.
