Release Blitz & Review: Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen

Bittersweet
True North Series – Book 1
By Sarina Bowen

Synopsis
BITTERSWEET (TRUE NORTH #1)
If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the orchard.
The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago.
At twenty-seven, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.
Vermont was never in Audrey Kidder’s travel plans. Neither was Griff Shipley. But she needs a second chance with the restaurant conglomerate employing her. Okay—a fifth chance. And no self-righteous lumbersexual farmer will stand in her way.
They’re adversaries. They want entirely different things from life. Too bad their sexual chemistry is as hot as Audrey’s top secret enchilada sauce, and then some.

Sarina has posted a first chapter on her website!

Review
4.5 Farmer Stars.

Sarina Bowen is one of my favourite authors. I love her Ivy Years and Him series and when I heard she was starting a new series, I couldn’t wait to read it. Bittersweet didn’t disappoint me. I read Bittersweet in one sitting because it was just that good.  When I was reading the book, I felt like I was in the story because of how amazing the writing was.

The plot was unlike something I had ever read before. I loved the location that the story took place in. An apple farm in Vermont is somewhere I never thought a book could take place in but Sarina proved me wrong. Audrey and Griff are now some of my favourite characters. I loved their quirks. Audrey was so relatable, driven and independent. I fell in love with her character right away. Audrey is a strong heroine and she never lets other peoples opinions or expectations define who she is. Griffin is protective, alpha, moody, smart and so so swoony. Griffin puts his family before anything else in his life and does everything he can to protect the people he cares about.

Griffin and Audrey’s relationship is full of chemistry and they were both perfect for each other. Their banter was fun to read and there were points that had me laughing. I fell in love with Audrey and Griffin’s relationship.

The secondary characters in this book were just as amazing as the first and I feel like I already know them. I can’t wait for their stories.

I never wanted this story to end. I love this world that Sarina has created. Bittersweet is such an awesome read. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a romance. I’m so excited to see where Sarina is going to take this series. The good news is that the next instalment is only 28 days away..
